INVERTERS

Inverters convert DC (direct current) electricity generated by wind turbines or photovoltaic modules and stored in batteries into 230V 50Hz AC (alternating current) power required to run conventional appliances and for connection to the grid.

 

SOLAR PV PANELS

We have a range of photovolaic (PV) modules suitable for use in all applications from small remote power needs to utility power generation.

 

WIND TURBINES

We can supply small battery charging windturbines for DIY installation but for larger turbines professional installation is required. We have many years experience of wind turbine supply and installation.

 

BATTERIES

Storage batteries are the heart of all off-grid and back-up wind/PV or inverter electrical systems. Their function is to balance the outgoing electrical requirements with the incoming power supply. They offer a reliable source of electricity which can be used when solar or wind power is not available. Batteries are able to provide short term power output many times higher than the charging source output.

 

WATER PUMPS

A wide range of pumps are available for most applications. In selecting a pump the following criteria should be considered:

• Flow: Rate at which the pump will deliver, measured in litres/hour (l/h) or litres/min (l/m).
• Head: Maximum height to which the pump will deliver.
• Suction Lift: Needed where the water source is lower than the pump.
• Total Head: This is the entire vertical distance from water source to the tank.
• Horizontal Distance
• Power Consumption: Not the least important consideration in a remote power system!
